Lojong, Tonglen, and Chöd

With Lopön Chandra, Jeff Tipp, & Robin Gayle

EVERY SUNDAY at our new location in Berkeley (see below)

9:30 - 11:30 AM
(With tea time from 11:30am-12pm)

These practices are for new and returning practitioners. In this series we will learn the Lojong slogans that teach practical and inspiring ways to cultivate relative and ultimate Bodhicitta (awakened heart). The practice of Tonglen (Sending & Receiving) meditation is found in these Bodhicitta slogans. Lojong is a powerful foundation for the practice of Chöd and Feeding Your Demons. Thus, the Namkai Norbu Chöd and the Parchangma Chöd will be practiced alternately at the end of each class.

All are welcome. Drop-ins are welcome.

at Tara Mandala Retreat Center, Pagosa Springs, CO

April 26 - 30

With Lama Tsultrim Allione, Lopön Chandra Easton, & Karla Jackson-Brewer
Chöd is a unique blend of the Tibetan Shamanic traditions and the Buddhist tradition of compassion and emptiness. This centuries-old practice is sung and is accompanied by the use of a traditional Chöd drum and bell. Healing comes when fear, fixation, and self-clinging are cut through, when we nurture and don’t fight what assails us. This gives rise to the awareness of the empty nature of afflictive emotions. Lama Tsultrim will teach the first day and a half. Karla and Lopön Chandra will teach the final three days.

May 4 - 9

With Lopön Chandra Easton & Polly Ryan, MFT
Inspired by the ancient practice of Chöd, Feeding Your Demons™ is a five-step process created by Lama Tsultrim Allione that allows us to offer compassion and understanding to our own inner demons rather than engaging in battle and struggling with them. This process is of great benefit when working with a wide variety of personal demons and other dilemmas of modern life. The demon work will be balanced by the deep practice of Prajna Paramita, a “nature of mind” meditation practice. This training is the first step for licensed healing professionals who want to become certified to use this process professionally.

With Lopön Chandra
Feeding Your Demons® is an accessible and effective approach for dealing with negative emotions, addictions, fears, trauma, and self-defeating patterns. Based on the ancient Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd, Feeding Your Demons® reverses the paradigm of fighting with our demons, instead prompting us to investigate their causes and feed these fragmented aspects of our psyche with love and compassion. By releasing the pent-up energy trapped in these internal conflicts, we can effectively heal and transform them into allies in our life.

In this workshop, Lopön Chandra will introduce the practice of Feeding Your Demons® and guide you in the five step practice. Recommended reading: Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict, by Tsultrim Allione.

Open to all. All are welcome; no one turned away for lack of funds.
